Resilience coaching
Change the world by changing your mentality.
Psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting well in the face of
adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress.
It would be great if these three bullets we expanded upon more about how people facing these things might feel.
- Methods to eliminate your barriers to success?
- Ways to cope with shortcomings?
- Or a strategy to become a difference-maker in your community?
I don’t know what kind of resilience you’d be focusing on but maybe something like this.

Are you constantly facing the little voice in your head telling you that you’re not good enough? Most people think that’s something they have to live with but I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to. Resilience Training is all about creating a mentally strong person with the ability to face challenges and overcome them. After 12 weekly sessions, you’ll gain the confidence to ask for that promotion, ask for the divorce or the faces new challenges you haven’t even thought of yet.
The above paragraph was straight from the dome with little, to no research. If you want me to dive in deeper I can haha.

My Own Story

There have been pivotal moments in my life when I didn’t have it all together.
My origin story itself is a testament to my innate ability to find a way to persevere despite challenges that would stop many others in their tracks.
You see, I grew up in a trailer park in Georgia in a small town with a population of 4,200 where people didn’t leave. Many end up stuck because of various circumstances – poverty, fear of the unknown, or an unwillingness to take risks.
Being an openly gay person, living in a small town in the heart of the Bible Belt, the prospect of being stuck forever didn’t appeal to me.
I was bullied relentlessly in school and in the community for being who I was. Honestly, the depression and anxiety were crippling, and I felt like I had this weight on my shoulders and constantly looked over my back.
One day, I realized I had to get out. Being stuck in one place forever was not an option.
So, I found the strength from within and I promised myself to focus solely on changing my environment.
In doing so, I became obsessed with the journey to change my life and make a difference for other oppressed folks, learning how to actualize my goals and manifest success.
I knew education was my way out.
After graduating high school at 17, I got my own apartment, put myself through community college, and graduated in just 18 months with an Associate’s Degree in Web Design a month later moved to The Biggest Little City (Reno, Nevada) to build my life.
In time, I turned that degree into experience, and I turned that experience into Ace Studios, a social impact agency that uplifts brands that do good in the world.
I’ve become a successful CEO, a published author, and an elected official in my time here in Reno.
You see, I harnessed the power of resilience to make those changes and get results.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve fallen flat on my face, failed, and been challenged more times than I can count. If you are taking risks, you have to be okay with things not going your way.
Most recently, my time as an elected school board Trustee challenged me more than ever. After being the target of hate, harassment, death threats, and more, I broke down mentally and physically.
To remain resilient, and to put my own health and wellbeing first, I chose to resign. I chose myself.
Through that experience and many others that I haven’t mentioned, I discovered ways to reframe my perception that I wasn’t falling down but falling forward into better things.
